What therapy do you offer?
I am trained in Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Dialetical behavioural therapy (DBT) skills and I have a counselling skills certificate. Please see below the therapies I offer in more detail and what the sessions may look like.

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
CBT is a talking therapy that focuses on understanding our thoughts, emotions, how we respond and body sensations, as well as understanding how all of these may interact with each other. It is an effective therapy for many different mental health difficulties.
The therapy sessions are led by you and your needs. We will start by understanding your current experiences and reflecting on what may be helpful for you at present. We will also have a think about any goals you may have for therapy.
Sometimes people want to understand how their past experiences have affected them which CBT also provides space for.

Dialetical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) skills
DBT is a talking therapy which was developed from CBT. It helps us to support our emotions through understanding them and learning skills to manage them.
This type of therapy may be useful if we feel emotions intensely and they can sometimes feel overwhelming.
We would start by understanding your current experiences and if DBT skills would be beneficial for you. Each session we would introduce a new skill for you to try that week and we would also be learning to support your current emotions.
The DBT skills we could cover are
- Mindfulness skills
- Emotional regulation skills
- Distress tolerance
- Interpersonal skills
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch and book a consultation so we can discuss further.
Please note, I am not a DBT therapist so would only be able to provide DBT skills to support your current needs.
Mindfulness sessions
We all are able to experience mindfulness, but sometimes life can be so busy it can be hard for us to access. These sessions set time aside during your busy schedule to be present, take notice of any thoughts or feelings you might be experiencing, noticing what is going on for you without judgement.
This session would be similar to the mindfulness group but offered on an individual basis.
A session would focus on
- Guided breathing
- Information regarding mindfulness
- Grounded breathing
If there was a particular part of mindfulness you'd like to focus on, please get in touch so I can adapt the session to your needs.
